Q: Who writes
the specifications?
A: Our specifications
consultants do, based on information that you provide through our
convenient on-line systems.
Q: How do I
review and provide feedback on the specifications?
A: The specifications
will be posted to your subscribers account as they are being prepared.
You can review them on-line and send a note to our specwriters with
any comments or changes you require. If you wish to redline the documents,
we provide our companion SPECLiner
program which allows you to make changes directly to the documents
which will be saved as new versions in your subscribers account.
Q: How do I
get a copy of e-SPECS Desktop?
A: You can download
it from your project account, receive it by e-mail or we will send
you a CD by mail.
Q: How is the
final specification document delivered to me?
A: The completed
specification manual can be delivered in any format of your choosing.
You can print the final spec manuals on your printer or we will handle
the printing and distribution for you.
Q: Do I need
CAD drawings in order to take advantage of your service?
A: No. We provide
you an on-line checklist form that lets you provide our consultants
the information they need to prepare your draft specifications. Our
consultants will determine what additional information is required
in order to complete your specifications which they will post as a
note in your project account. You simply review your project notes
and respond to any issues our specifiers request.
Q: What drawing
formats do you support?
A: e-SPECS was
designed to support AutoCAD .dwg
and .dxf drawing formats, which most CAD programs can produce. If
your CAD system can not translate its output to either format, simply
forward the native file to us and we will translate it for you.
Q: How do I
get my drawings to you?
A: You simply
upload them to your project account.
Q: Can you give
me reports on errors in my drawings?
A: Yes. Inconsistencies
and errors in your drawing calloffs can be reported to you. We can
also provide you a report that indicates which drawing calloffs are
associated with the various specifications sections included.
Q: What master
guide specifications do you use?
A: We link to
a variety of the popular master guide specifications.If you have a
preference for master guide specifications, check with our consultants
to see if we support them.
Q: How do I
get my consultants sections into your final output?
A: Simply have
your consultants e-mail their completed specs to us or upload them
to your project account. We will incorporate them into the final specification
manual, complete with consistent type style, headers and footers.
Q: Can I use
may own office masters?
A: Yes. InterSpec
will provide custom mappings and other system customizations to fit
into any size office for any type of project. InterSpec will be glad
to discuss with you and your specification writers how we can fit
e-SPECS into your office.
