FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE
WLC
Architects, Inc. Selects e-SPECS to Help Reduce Production Time and
Improve Quality.
August
12, 2005, Portland, ME - InterSpec, Inc. ("InterSpec")
announced today that its e-SPECS® construction specification program
has been selected by WLC Architects, Inc. to manage the preparation
of their project specification manuals. WLC Architects, Inc. is a
full service architectural firm providing professional design services
for educational, academic, corporate, entertainment, transportation,
religious and civic projects, with offices in Rancho Cucamonga, Folsom
and Emeryville, California. They are employing e-SPECS to improve
the efficiencies and quality of their project specifications while
allowing more projects to be completed in a shorter time frame. They
have trained over 70 architects and project managers on the e-SPECS
software.
e-SPECS
automates the preparation of construction specifications by extracting
the product and material requirements directly from the CAD/BIM design
application instantly updating the project specifications to the requirements
of the building model. e-SPECS integrates the entire project team
into the specification development process streamlining the document
coordination process and reducing reliance on inefficient word processing
systems. As updates and changes in the design drawing model are made,
those changes are synchronized and updated into the e-SPECS project.
The automation and management solutions enable reduction in time and
costs in design, improved communication and access to current specification
information resulting in a reduction in coordination issues, change
orders, addendums and RFIs.
"e-SPECS
is being deployed at each of our three office locations to enable
our studio architects and project managers to automate the development
of construction specifications from the information contained in our
building models", said Donald Rice, Architect, AIA, CSI, Senior
Associate with WLC Architects, Inc. "We needed to be able to
improve our design efficiencies and coordination efforts in order
to be able to do more projects in less time. Utilizing e-SPECS will
allow us to achieve that goal. e-SPECS will integrate our firm's office
master specifications and link those preferences to our design drawings.
e-SPECS will also reduce the need to print copies of draft specs for
redlining and markups as now the design team has immediate access
to the current version of the specification. This improvement in efficiency,
reduction in costs and improvement in the quality of our designs will
allow us to provide superior results to our clients, and increase
our workload without the need to expand our staff."
"Our
success depends on our customer's successes", said Michael Brennan,
InterSpec's CEO. "We are proud to help customers like WLC Architects,
Inc. grow their business using our e-SPECS solutions. They quickly
understood the value of the design automation, workflow efficiencies
and improvement in quality that e-SPECS can bring to their firm."
